Zero Waste Green Festival

 March 8th, 2024

3:00pm - 5:30pm

We are excited to announce the return of our highly anticipated Zero Waste Green Festival, now in its second year. This year's event will place a special emphasis on Ocean Conservancy, aligning with our school's commitment to environmental education and sustainability.

This is a FREE community event!

LET US KNOW YOU’RE COMING!

Check out last years event featured in the Encinitas Advocate

Join us for live music, food, and fun while we explore ways to reduce waste in our daily lives and work to leave the world a little better than how we found it.

This year's event will once again feature a vibrant array of attractions and participants. Attendees can look forward to engaging in educational exhibits, innovative ways to minimize waste, and learning about ocean conservation. The festival will showcase student exhibits and performances, singer-songwriter Lee Coulter, and a host of community ambassadors.

The festival aims not only to educate but also to inspire actionable change in reducing individual waste profiles and contributing to ocean conservancy.

In line with the theme of sustainability, the Ocean Knoll Children’s Farm will provide fresh, locally sourced ingredients for delicious food offerings like pizza, muffins, and lemonade, all made by students and faculty. As with last year, all proceeds from the event will support the care and upkeep of the Ocean Knoll Children’s Farm.

Ocean Knoll Elementary remains dedicated to its role as an educational leader in sustainability, deeply integrated with the IB program's unit of Sharing the Planet. This festival is a testament to the school's ongoing commitment to community engagement and environmental stewardship.

We can not put on events like these without volunteers like you!
